Almond sits at the warm end of neutral, a taupe with enough brown in it to feel like something rather than nothing. Against a white wall it stays soft; next to oak or rattan it more or less disappears into the room.
Sateen is the cool one. The face of the cloth is dense and slick, so there is almost no drag against skin and the bed feels a degree cooler than cotton the moment you get in. It softens further over the first month and does not need ironing to look right.
